Friends of statistics - Statistics meeting

Who are we and what do we do?

The "Friends of Statistics" is a regular meeting of (young) scientists to exchange and learn advanced statistical basics and further knowledge. Each appointment focuses on a specific topic. In addition, there is the possibility to present own empirical research projects such as dissertations, publications, lectures etc., although the statistics/methodology should be the main content. Central is an informal character with a participatory and egalitarian structure, where questions can be asked continuously, discussions can take place together and where we have fun with statistics. It is a working group without a classical seminar leader, which means that each participant prepares his own session at regular intervals. The contents build on each other, but it is important that each session is a separate unit.

Digital format

The friends of statistics meet once a month from noon to 1.30 pm. The dates are up-to-date and until further notice digitally via zoom.

How can you participate?

Any interested young scientist can participate! After a trial appointment, you can register obligatorily for the current programme every six months.

When & where?

When? Tuesday, from noon to 1.30 p.m., for dates see below.

What are the advantages of participation?

In addition to the exchange of content and practical experience on a "peer level", regular participation can lead to a certificate, also for holding one's own unit. Furthermore, participants are given preferential consideration in workshops that are for example regularly held with the Graduate School of the Faculty of Human Sciences.
